SECO USA Offers Off-the-Shelf Daughter Card for Easy Expandability

SECO USA, Inc. now offers Fingerboard, SECO USA’s COTS, ready-to-use expansion board for SECO USA’s Fingertip line of products
Rockville, MD (March 11, 2009) – SECO USA, Inc., a leader in low-power embedded designs for OEMs of mobile devices, today announces the availability of their new daughter card, Fingerboard. Fingerboard offers off-the-shelf expandability for SECO USA’s PXA-based Fingertip4 and Fingertip5 single board computers. Continuing SECO USA’s tradition of low-power, high-performance design, Fingerboard offers an array of peripherals, including: RS-232, USB Host and Client, Ethernet and support for multiple displays, while maintaining the same total package footprint as many 4.3” displays.

The introduction of Fingerboard offers more options to OEMs of wireless, handheld, small size mobile devices seeking quick time-to-market. The new solution with increased-peripheral set will also decrease cost and time to market of projects for developers, while increasing hardware and software options. SECO USA will also offer semi-custom engagements for customers using Fingerboard but requiring additional peripherals and configuration options.

“Customers benefit from the off-the-shelf expandability Fingerboard offers with easy-to-use peripheral interface connectors,” stated Dan Rowland, VP of Marketing for SECO USA. “With a quicker time-to-market and cost savings of a COTS system, customers of battery operated and battery backed portable devices will greatly benefit from the winning combination of Fingertip and Fingerboard utilizing SECO USA’s award-winning BatterySmart suite.”
