SECO USA Joins Freescale’s Single Chip Module (SCM) Ecosystem and Alpha Partner Program

Austin, TX (June 24, 2015) – SECO USA, a leading original design manufacturer of low-power embedded systems, Internet of Things and rugged devices, today announces their participation in Freescale’s® Single Chip Module (SCM) Alpha Partner Program and introduction as an SCM Ecosystem Partner. Freescale announced the innovative SCM product line at the Freescale Technology Forum (FTF) keynote address earlier in the week. The SCM Alpha Program affords members, as earliest adopters of cutting-edge SCM technology, the opportunity of earliest access to design resources, enabling members to accelerate SCM adoption into new product. SECO USA’s introduction as an SCM Ecosystem partner was also announced at FTF, recognizing their expertise in SCM-based product design.
SECO USA was named as an SCM Ecosystem partner based on: its early adoption of the SCM technology via Freescale’s Alpha program, core competencies in rugged electronics design, and availability to execute custom SCM designs, and history of delivering compact, low power embedded computer circuitry with rapid time-to-market. SECO USA introduced the SCM-based Fury-M6 at FTF on June 23 with a live demo during the FTF keynote address. As an SCM Alpha Program Partner, SECO USA is a member of the SCM-i.MX6Dual validation team, well-versed in design with and performance of SCMs and ideally positioned for the optimal production of SCM designs. With their growing family of Freescale products, induction into these programs positions SECO USA to become a key player in the Freescale single board computer market.
“With over a decade of experience with embedded systems, low-power, small form factor, rugged device designs, SECO USA is the perfect addition to Freescale network of partners,” stated Nancy Fares, Vice President of System Solutions Products at Freescale. “Their Hydra-F6 rugged tablet wowed us last year when the fully powered tablet survived submersion in a tank of water for the entirety of FTF 2104. We invited them onto the Internet of Tomorrow tour and now as SCM Alpha and Ecosystem Partners, they continue to impress us with their products and engineering capabilities.”
“We’re excited to be officially recognized as part of the Freescale family,” stated Hayley Parks, Marketing Communications manager at SECO USA. “Our deep experience in low-power, rugged SBC and mobile device design has resulted in our growing line of Freescale products, including the soon-to-be-released Fury-X (based on the i.MX 6SoloX processor) and Fury-M6, based on Freescale’s new SCM-i.MX 6 module. That we were able to create a full working system, from start to finish and in such a short amount of time, illustrates the partnership that has developed between SECO USA and Freescale.”
The Fury-M6 is on display at Arrow’s FTF Technology Lab booth through Thursday, June 25. Visit seco-usa.com for more on SECO USA’s Freescale family of products and/or SCM custom design and production services.
