SECO USA Introduces Advanced Platform for Wireless Device Development

ATP-27x Platform Incorporates the Latest Low-Power Technologies for New Devices Boston, MA, (September 13, 2004)— SECO USA, Inc., a leader in handheld and wireless device platforms for OEMs, today announced at the Embedded Systems Conference its new Advanced Technology Platform, a hardware/software reference platform for showcasing the future of low-power wireless device technology. The ATP-27x is based on Intel’s new PXA270 (previously known as “Bulverde”) embedded microprocessor and incorporates SECO USA’s latest power management technology advances. It is targeted at top-tier OEMs who are interested in getting a head start on the design of future wireless products.
“SECO USA’s new ATP-27x platform is ideally suited for those companies that are looking to get ahead of the curve in developing next-generation wireless devices,” said Andrew Girson, SECO USA’ CEO. “Whereas SECO USA’s popular Elf3 and Fingertip3 reference platforms are ideally suited for speedy time-to-market with proven designs, the ATP-27x is appropriate for exploring next-generation designs.”
The ATP-27x benefits from SECO USA’s extensive portfolio of power-reducing hardware and software technologies and also incorporates new wireless device peripherals and interfaces. The updated hardware architecture for the ATP-27x facilitates better power management and a new version of the BatterySmart dynamic power management software designed for the ATP-27x provides greater ability to adjust and manage performance, power consumption, and battery life.
ATP-27x reference platforms will be available in October and will be priced at $9995, including the reference platform hardware, software, documentation, and technical support.
