SECO USA Launches Eco-Friendly Initiative with SECO USA goes Green

SECO USA’s new environmental initiative, SECO USA goes Green, will focus on environmentally-friendly technologies and practices within the embedded industry
Rockville, MD (January 6, 2009) – SECO USA, a leader in low-power embedded solutions for OEMs, launches SECO USA goes Green, taking steps to decrease the environmental impacts of embedded technologies. SECO USA goes Greenwill promote eco-friendly practices within the company, with customers and throughout the embedded industry. As part of the initiative, SECO USA will offer customers energy-saving, RoHS compliant, components and systems, while taking more steps internally to reduce impact on the environment.
SECO USA’s power-saving BatterySmart creates energy efficient platforms and devices. RoHS compliant parts and products are used and created by SECO USA, meeting demands to decrease the environmental impact of technology on the Earth. While working towards a more eco-friendly business model externally, SECO USA will also promote green living internally. Internally, the company will re-use and recycle shipping and packing materials, switch to biodegradable, starch-based packing peanuts and eliminate the use of Styrofoam products. Other steps include: exploring and utilizing alternative energy sources, such as solar power, working with an environmentally responsible printer, recycling, plans to provide interested customers with Material Declaration Data Sheets (MDDS) and raising eco-awareness among the embedded industry.
“While SECO USA has always provided quality products, with a concern for the environment, SECO USA is taking the steps to provide more eco-friendly products and services to our customers. With concerns about the environment building, we want to do as much as possible to lessen the impact we have on the environment,” stated SECO USA CEO, Knut Skare, “From recycling to energy-saving hardware and software , we are happy to be going green and hope that others in our industry will too!”
