SECO USA Announces Multiple Design Wins with the ATP-27x Platform

Rockville, MD, January 10th, 2005—SECO USA, Inc., a leading provider of low-power handheld and wireless device platform technologies, today announced that its ATP-27x advanced technology platform has been incorporated as the basis for several high-profile custom handheld and wireless devices. The ATP-27x platform is the first platform from SECO USA to incorporate Intel’s PXA270 “Bulverde” processor and reflects SECO USA’s significant momentum with numerous design wins based on the PXA270.
The ATP-27x continues the evolution of SECO USA’s award-winning low-power platform technology, incorporating full support for the PXA270’s advanced power modes and a variety of PXA270 features such as USB Host, camera interface, and dynamic core voltage adjustment capabilities. Combined with SECO USA’s patent-pending BatterySmart power management software for Windows CE and Linux, the ATP-27x achieves even lower power consumption than previous generations of SECO USA’s reference platform products.
“With the ATP-27x, SECO USA is continuing to leverage our significant expertise in building high-performance, low-power wireless devices,” said Andrew Girson, SECO USA’s CTO. “For developers of advanced devices such as PDAs, smartphones, and smart sensors, the PXA270-based ATP-27x represents the ideal platform to achieve a high-quality product with speedy time-to-market.”
Customer products based on SECO USA’s ATP-27x reference platform will begin to appear later this year. SECO USA’s development platform starter kits based on the PXA270 will be available this summer at a base price of $2995. Production volume purchases of PXA270-based platforms also are available.
